Summer Festivals Guide 2011

Summer festivals are just around the corner so I thought I would write a short guide. Some great headline acts are featuring this year so I’m sure whichever one you decide to go to you will have a fab time!

Glastonbury, 22-26 June 2011
Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset
The largest of them all, and probably the most famous. This venue has changed over the last couple of years, no longer centring on Indie Guitar bands, we have seen other genres getting a look in with Jay-Z being the most controversial of choices. This year we see Beyonce and the Wu Tang Clan being two of the main acts with Morrissey and Cee Lo Green also listed. Should be a good one this year but as always remember your wellies!!  http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/
Wireless Festival, 1-3 Jul 2011
Hyde Park, London
No need for wellies at this one, not a tent in site either! Hyde Park festivals are always a good show and this year is no exception with Pulp being one of the bigger acts plus The Black eyed peas making an appearance should get the crowd jumping!  http://www.wirelessfestival.co.uk/2011/

Sonisphere, 8-10 July 2011
Knebworth House
Serious rock festival this one, mosh pits, flying plastic beer glasses, and beards lol. This isn’t really my thing so I can’t comment too much on it. Metallica and Limp Bizkit headlining.  http://uk.sonispherefestivals.com/
The Big Chill, 4-7 August 2011
Eastnor Castle, Deer Park, Herts
Great family day out this one, the main part of the festival has a great line up this year including The Chemical Brothers and Kanye West. This festival has a smaller festival within a festival called The Mini Chill full of things for families including camping zones, activities etc.  http://www.bigchill.net/festival

V Festival , 20-21 August 2011
Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire
My personal favourite, always has a great line up and in my opinion is the best party atmosphere. This year’s line up hasn’t disappointed with the Artic Monkey’s, Eminem, Rihanna, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Chase and Status just to name a few.  I can’t wait! http://www.vfestival.com/

Now, hands up who has tickets!!
