Frankie out of the X Factor

Its has been confirmed that Frankie has been kicked out of the X Factor. Apparently he broke one of the X Factor's Golden Rules and was asked to leave the show immediently. Frankies stupid antics have however given the opportunity for one of the other contestant to come back to the show. You can currently vote for Amelia Lily, Two Shoes, Jonjo Kerr or James Michael to come back in to the show. I think it should be either Amelia or Two Shoes. Thought they were both fab and cant believe the judges voted them out. Frankie has also been axed from the Marks & Spencers Christmas advert, what a way to start your career Frankie! a right waste!

For a style with a flourish choose Statement Jewellery!

You are rocking the perfect outfit from the top of your perfectly coiffed hair to the tips of your impossibly high heels. You know you look good but what you want to look is fabulous. You need one more thing to complete your look and turn heads wherever you go. And that one more thing is a fabulous piece of statement jewellery.

The key, of course, is to say just enough and no more. If you err on the side of caution and go for something too small, your accessories won’t make any impact and no one will even notice. Go too far the other way and whoa! All everyone will remember is that you looked as though you fell into a clown’s dressing-up box. Get it right, however, and your statement jewellery piece will be the single style decision that stamps you as a woman of style and substance.

You don’t have to look far for inspiration. Victoria Beckham is one of those style icons who effortlessly leads the way in make a statement with the accessories she wears, as do Cheryl Cole and Nicole Scherzinger. All three wear jewellery that says as much about them as their work and their outfits do. And the good news is that we can all emulate the style of the stars.

Right now there are some extraordinary pieces of fashion jewellery on the high street that are well within the price range of everyone. Designers are taking advantage of cheaper materials and up-to-date manufacturing processes to indulge their imagination and bring us style on an affordable budget.
Think about what kind of statement jewellery you want. For example, a fabulous ring needs no other adornment and just because a rock the size of Gibraltar on an engagement ring might be way beyond your reach, it doesn’t mean you can’t still show off a gorgeous piece that looks a million dollars but cost a lot less.

Make your outfit dramatic with a statement bracelet a la Kim Kardashian. The socialite is rarely seen without layers of leather and fabric, steel and stones that add up to an extraordinary and unforgettable look. Adorn your own wrist in bold graphite, glittering chains and shiny stones, and layer them Kardashian style to add your own style to the look.

A necklace can be the finishing touch to your perfect outfit and right now no one is making more of a statement with her neckwear than Tulisa, the latest addition to the judging panel on the UK’s X Factor. Here is a girl who knows how to show off her neck to the best effect, wearing the likes of Egyptian style collars and clusters of charms together. Add the X Factor to your own style by checking out what the likes of BeyoncĂ© and Rihanna are wearing around their necks. Think cascading collars, strings of pearls and braided leather – find your own style and complete your look.
If you’ve got an outfit that you figure will turn heads, add a piece of statement jewellery and be prepared to stop the traffic. A little bit of research will reveal the pieces that give you both the wow factor AND the X Factor.

Yesteryear style with vintage fashion jewellery

There are lots of reasons for looking to the past when we’re choosing things to wear, and retro and vintage styling is as popular today as it has ever been.  Broadly speaking, anything which was produced before the 1920s can be described as antique, while clothing and jewellery dating back from between 1920 and 1980s can be classed as vintage.

As with anything old, genuine vintage jewellery pieces can be hard to find and expensive, but these days, there is a vast range of reproduction and retrospective designs which can add a touch of real old fashioned glamour to any outfit or look.  So if you’re looking for a really classic way to add glamour and style to any outfit, whether it’s for day or evening, smart or casual, why not browse through old magazines, movie posters, and photographs of the past and find something which works for you.
Head back to the 20s, wear your strings of beads long and layered for real flapper style, or tie them round your head for a superchic look, which even Princess Diana worked in the early years.  In the 1930’s Wallis Simpson taught us just about everything we know about jewellery, with her fabulous collections of precious stones. Birds, flowers, wild cats and abstract designs in brooches, pins, hair accessories, bracelets and rings, can be piled on, or worn one at a time, for a very slightly over-the-top response to challenging economic times.

The 1950s were all about the movies. Think Rita Hayworth, Vivien Leigh, Ava Gardner, red lips, big prints and even bigger hair, together with just enough bling to draw attention to a girl’s best bits. Jewellery was big and strong, and women looked a million dollars.

In the 1960s, new materials and manufacturing processes meant the decade passed in a swirl of psychedelic colours and artificial fabrics, plastic and rubber, nylon and fake fur. Dresses were very short, and jewellery and accessories mixed up together. Anything went with anything, as long as it was shiny and bright.

If you choose to invest in a bit of vintage style for yourself, you’ll be in good company, as today’s goddesses of both the small and silver screen can all be seen channelling looks which combine the old and the new, the modern and the vintage.

Cheryl Cole, one of the current leaders of all that’s stylish has frequently been seen wearing large scale costume pieces such as the Dome Crystal ring and the crystal drop earrings which would not have looked out of place on Elizabeth Taylor, and she’s often seen with heavy strings of simple pearls very much in the style of Coco Chanel.  US ‘X Factor’ judge Nicole Scherzinger is a great fan of heavy cuff- style bangles, and  big gold statement pieces, which are almost Egyptian, and yet bring back memories of  1930s and 40s film star glamour, while style leaders such as Kim Kardashian, Tulisa Contostavlos and Jennifer Lopez are all fans of complex necklace designs which are as real a draw as any worn by Wallis Simpson or Vivien Leigh.

Whichever era captures your imagination, adding a piece or two of special vintage style jewellery will update your look by taking it back in time, and perhaps even mark you out as a style icon too.
